Class: Yoga for Peace of Mind


Yoga for Peace of Mind incorporates a number of Hatha Yoga styles, including Yin and Ashtanga, and offers a blend of flow and static poses.  The classes are structured to provide everyone the opportunity to improve their personal level of strength and flexibility at their own personal pace.  Students are encouraged to focus on breath and sensation during the yoga practice, thereby promoting mental relaxation and peace of mind through connection with self and awareness of the present moment.


In February 2011, Brendon completed a 200 hour registered yoga training program at Yandara Yoga Institute and has been teaching Yoga at various venues in the Quinte and Brighton region since then. He is certified to teach Trauma Sensitive Yoga and works with survivors of PTSD and other emotional trauma.  This fall he will be working with Queens University to conduct the first Canadian Academic study to assess the effectiveness of Yoga as a treatment for PTSD.  Well grounded in the Brendon is also a Reiki Master and Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner.
